geometric kernels - not mesh kernels) from the fc specific user interface and ways of working. One also have to separate the general concepts of cad and parametric 3d modelling (which are there in all 3d programs built on similar geometry kernels, i.e. One of course could say that this is completely unacceptable,īut I'm afraid that it is the inescapable reality,Īsk anyone that claims that they know a bit of cad how much time they have spend working with cad systems. (sure you can after some evenings probably actually do models in the tutorials, but that is not the same as creating a part to 3d print (or whatever the use is) from scratch) I'm guessing it is months of self studying before one starts to feel comfortable with making simple to intermediate 3d models. If one starts without any background in cad or engineering, So at least for myself, I would not be so worried working from an old version tutorial - one just have to embrace it with a bit of imagination Sure some commands change in versions, but there are plenty of them that has not changed for several versions, The fact that there are tutorials and videos for old versions is not much to do about, that is really upon the user to navigate.Īnd quite likely if one reads the docs and searches the forum - it should not be too far away to identify the applicable differences. (and of course self taught people capable of making amazing models). Parametric 3d is, and have never been, easy, there are plenty of university educated people around that truly suck at making 3d models, sure something comes out but they are unstructured, uneditable etc.
